Fourth of July

On Sunday morning our neighbors invited the kids over to decorate their bikes. The kids thought that was really fun.
Ryan just enjoying watching them.
Jeremy, Annika, Brooklyn, and Eva with their bikes all finished.
This 4th of July was really fun for us because Benson had it off. He had to work the last 2 so it was really nice having him around for the festivities this year. One of his friends from work invited us to his house for a BBQ and fireworks. They have a view of the Bridge of the Gods bridge in the Columbia River. It was really pretty.
Benson and the kids up in the treehouse.
Ryan enjoying a little left over cupcake.
Benson cuddling with his buddies from work. Matt, Bill, and Benson, we were at Bill's house.
We even roasted marshmallows and had s'mores.
The guys lit some fireworks in the backyard (Benson even let Jeremy light one much to my surpise. I told him he had to wait until he was 18. Apparently Benson and I need to work on communication.) and we also got to watch the show that the city did.
We had such a fun night. We can't wait to do it again next year!

my birthday

I had a fun birthday. Benson had to sleep for a little while so the kids and I went for a bike ride. Once he got up we went out to dinner at Who Song and Larry's and sat outside along the Columbia River. It was really nice. After dinner we came home and had birthday cake. It was super yummy!
Benson had to work that night, so once he left the kids and I headed over to a 4th of July party and watched fireworks with some friends.

My good friend Shelly had her little baby boy on Father's Day. We were able to go visit them last week. We picked up her girls and went to Wilsonville Fountains. After that we went back to their house and had dinner and visited for a little bit. I was able to take a few pictures but Tyler wasn't in the picture taking mood. Scott did a good job of calming him down long enough to take a few pictures.
The kids at the fountains.

I didn't know if Ryan was going to like it. He ended up loving it!
Ryan had to lay his towel out just like the big kids. Then he would jump and fall onto his towel.

last day of school

The last day of school was really bitter sweet. Brooklyn was excited for summer but really sad to leave her teacher Mrs. Riley and her friends. Brooklyn with Connor and the rest of her class. Brooklyn and Connor were really good friends.
Jeremy and Jagger with the books that they wrote and illustrated.
Mrs. Person and Jeremy
Jeremy wanted to get her M&M's and flowers.
Mrs. Person called them each up and presented them with a memory book. They also got to make a 1st grade wish and blow out a candle. Ryan had to join him.
I am really working backwards. The kids last day of school was June 18th.

the backyard

Maybe I should have titled this post backyard/family pictures. I can't resist putting in people pictures. Our yummy garden. If only we could get enough sun to make these veggies grow! This has been a horrible winter that doesn't seem to want to end.
Benson finished the new deck. That is the deck they are sitting on.
We invited the Williams up one last time before Shelly had her baby. It had been beautiful all day and then about dinner time it wasn't as nice. I refused to eat inside. I wanted to use the new deck.
Notice: Benson pointed out that my last couple of posts were horrible written and told me I really shouldn't try to post late at night. So sorry for the hard read! I might fix it someday.

Jeremy's 6th Birthday

I am a little late posting these. Life has been so busy, but better late then never. Jeremy's big present this year was a new bike. He of course loved it. He can never just give me a nice smile it has to be goofy. That is one of the many things I love about him. Another thing that I love about Jeremy is that he is so excited about whatever he gets. He was so excited when he opened this new shirt and tie for church. It was as if he opened a box of his favorite toys.
This is what I get when I ask Ry for a smile, love it!
We went bowling as a family for Jer's birthday. We had a really good time.

He had a hard time blowing out his candles because he had such a big smile on his face.
For his friend birthday party we did a police theme. It turned out really cute. We had a candy thief and the kids ahd to find the candy throughout the house and put it in there evidence bag.

Liam, Jagger, and JeremyJeremy was able to sit in the driver's seat of the car and turn on the lights. A friend of ours brings his police car home so he came over and showed the kids.

The kids had to put a badge on the bad guy and whatever number they put there bag on was how many pieces of candy they found on him. So then they got that many more. They didn't have birthday cake they had donuts!
Jeremy is such a sweet kid and we are so lucky he is in our family. All of his teachers say that he is one of the sweetest boys they know. He just finished up at a camp this week and the teacher said that she loved having him and hopes he comes back next year. He is also a very hard worker. He loves to help in the yard and even inside. One of his favorite things to do is vacuum and dust for me. He asks all the time if he can do those things. He really is such a great kid!
Our last big day. We went to Silver Falls. On our way there we saw a deer with her little babies. They were absolutely adorable. Here is a mixture of Matt's pictures and ours.

I love this picture.

These pictures are totally out of order but that is okay. We decided to do the full hike so we could see all 10 falls. It was about 4 miles. So this picture is from before we started.
If only Ryan had stayed this content the whole time. Unfortunately he decided that he wanted to be with me a majority of the time. He is too heavy to carry in the baby carrier so after a while I just carried him in my arms. I did that about the last 1.5 miles. That was pretty miserable. I'd like to try the hike again in a few years when he can walk the whole way!
The gang at South Falls right at the beginning.

The third one.
Double Falls
Don't remeber which one this was.

Jeremy and Brooklyn did really well on the hike. There was very little complaining.

This is my favorite one. If you look close enough you can see that the trail goes behind the fall. The water doesn't land into water it lands on a huge rock. It is so loud.
I'm not sure what he was trying to do but I didn't have to carry him for a minute so I didn't complain.
All in all it was a good day.
