spring training

Spring training is in full force in this neck of the woods. Jeremy is doing coach pitch this year, with that comes try-outs. What we are told is that try-outs are just to make sure that teams are evenly matched. But who are we kidding. They have a draft. No joke! The coaches come and see the kids and last Tuesday night they got together for the "draft". So I tried to get outside with Jer a few times to get some practice in. We took him to the batting cages once but apparently you have to be 6. It was very disappointing to Jeremy. The guy that owns the place gave him some quarters to play the video games.
Jeremy keeping his eye on the ball.
He goes for it. (Apparently I need to work on my pitching skills.)

So try-outs are over. Benson said he did fine. He was the first batter and he hit 3 of his 5 balls and he did pretty well fielding. Pop fly's we need to work on. I guess he will be playing with 7 year olds which seems crazy because Jeremy is 5. But he is excited to play and I am excited to watch.
Ryan needed to get in on the action.

playing catch

I already see the potential. ;)

Valentine's cookies

Brooklyn and Jer had fun making valentine cookies. I cheated this year and bought the cookies already cut out and cooked. Wow, that makes it so much easier!

Here are the cookies I made for Benson.

rainy day

A couple of Saturday's ago we had some really crazy weather. It would be bright and sunny and then go to pouring down rain. It was going back and forth, so it made for some pretty skies. The kids loved playing in the puddles too.

It was crazy to have such beautiful clear skies and then the rain clouds roll in.

the cabin

The first weekend in February I went with some friends to a cabin. We had 6 adults, 1 teenager, and 12 kids. It was a full house but it was so much fun. The kids had a blast playing together. They got along so well. The cabin sits on 5 acres with a stream running through. As you can imagine Jeremy had a blast. They also had foosball, air hockey, and ping pong. There was a really fun playroom with a girls area and a boys area. Ryan had a blast playing with the cars and all the cars contraptions. Here are a few pictures from our trip.

They had bikes for the kids to ride. I thought this was a cool picture of Jer.

We had such a fun time. I can't wait to do it again. Unfortunately my camera battery died before our weekend was over. That was a major bummer for me because I didn't bring my charger!

to the one i love

When I see this picture I am filled with love. I love this man so much and am so happy I get to share my life with him. Happy Birthday Bens, I love you! Benson you bring so much happiness into my life. I love being with you (which you already know because I follow you around the house when you are home.)

I love having fun with you and love how much you act like a child. You always keep me on my toes. I just never know what you are going to come up with next.
I know the kids love being around you too. We all have so much fun with you.

Thanks for being you and taking care of all of us. You work so hard for our family in so many ways. I love you baby! Happy Birthday!

You need to read my newest "kid talk." Oh I love my kids!

Jeremy and Ryan's Room

After several weeks we finally finished the boys' room. I love the way it turned out. My mind changed several times throughout the process. The one thing I did know was the room had to be blue per Jeremy's request. He was very upset when the house we bought wasn't blue and kept asking if we could paint it. Luckily his bedroom was good enough for him. I love blue but changing the siding on my house for my 5 year old wasn't going to happen.

The picture below with the framed jersey was Benson's dad's when he played hockey as a young boy. It is really cool to me to now have it hanging in my boy's room.
"Never let the fear of striking out keep you from playing the game." I love that saying. I applies to so many things in life. It is a good reminder for me.

My friend Chelon made all of the vinyl for me. I am so happy with it. Thank you so much. If you need vinyl go to her site She is amazing.

craft night

Last Friday night was craft night. My friend Kariann came up with the project and this is what we did. It is so fun to see how different everyone's turns out. On the back we put "I {heart} love U!" I put mine in a place where I could see both sides. I love to look at it.

By the way, Kariann loves to go above and beyond the call of duty. She made yummy treats! All of them were wonderful. Thanks Kariann!

a little help

A few mornings ago Ryan insisted on going outside. It was a little cold but at least it wasn't raining. So we went out. Of course Ryan wanted to ride a bike that was too big for him. Luckily Jeremy loves to help out. I thought it was so sweet watching Jeremy walk Ryan up and down the sidewalk helping Ryan.

My good friend Melinda and I have been running together. Our goal is to run a 1/2 marathon (she has the date, I don't remember) and possibly some day a marathon. Melinda is one of the most thoughtful people I know and for a little inspiration she bought us matching necklaces. They are to remind us of our goal and keep us going. I love it! She said that once we do our 1/2 marathon there is a little charm that we can get that goes on the necklace. Anyway, I thought it was cute. I love being surrounded by such good friends that have helped me along my path of life. So I say to all of you, thanks! I am so lucky to have you.
