eight hours

Ryan slept 8 hours the other night and it was wonderful. Too bad he didn't do it again the next night! He has been so much fun and we love that he is a part of our family.
Ryan is 6 weeks and 4 days old in these pictures.
(Sorry the coloring of this picture is horrible.)
He was sleeping on the couch and he turned 90 degrees in the procees. I love that his foot was hanging off of the couch.
My little Ry-guy. He is growing up too fast!

family time

When Brooklyn gets home from school the first thing she wants to do is hold and love Ryan. She is such a good big sister and a huge help to me!

Brooklyn and Ryan chillin' in front of the television.I just think this is a great picture of the Benson and Ryan.

Jer and Ave

These two have a funny relationship. It seemed to be very much a love/hate thing. They did have a lot of fun together. Here are a few pictures we took of them on the last day Avery was here. They kept hugging and falling over. It was pretty cute. I should have put one of those pictures in here. Jeremy is so much about kissing. He was starting to annoy Avery. He told Janel and me that Avery wouldn't let him hug and kiss her anymore. You do have to put a stop to him most times or he won't stop. It doesn't just have to be a cute girl either. He was all about hugging and kissing Grandpa too. (You may be cute Dad but your not a girl.)

Janel and Avery came to visit!

Janel and Avery came to visit for a few days. It was so much fun to have them here. They were even here for Brooklyn's birthday. We did lots of fun things. We...
read stories,
opened birthday presents, went to Sweet Tomatoes for Brooklyn's birthday,
hung around the house,
took silly pictures,
and of course went to Multnomah Falls.
We also went to Brooklyn's soccer game, rode bikes, played at the park, went shopping, and of course made cookies! Thanks guys for coming, it was so much fun having you here. The time went by too fast.

Pre-Birthday Party

We decided to have birthday cake on the Sunday before Brooklyn's birthday while my dad was here. We had the Williams come over to have cake with us. Brooklyn got her favorite cake, Carrot Cake. Don't get me wrong I like carrot cake but I can't believe I have a child that doesn't want chocolate cake! We went to Costco the other day and Jeremy told me he wanted the 7 layer chocolate cake for his birthday. Now that is what I am talking about.

Brooklyn turns 7

When did this sweet baby... turn into this sweet girl.
I don't know where the time has gone. I cannot believe I have a 7 year old. I am not old enough! I just don't know where the time has gone. I look at Ryan now and just want to cry at how much he has changed in the month that he has been here.
Anyway, I am so glad Brooklyn is part of our family. She is so sweet and so loving. She is also so willing to help out. She is a wonderful big sister. A lot of my friends say they need a "Brooklyn" around their house and wish they could take her home. She really is a wonderful child and we love her.
Happy Birthday Brooklyn!
We love you!

First Day of Pre-School

Jeremy had his first day of pre-school on Monday. He was soooo excited to go. Of course when we got there he was a little shy but he did warn me that he may be a wittle bit shy. When we picked him up he could not have been more proud of what a big boy he was for going to school. He had so much fun painting, playing with play doh, and playing on the playground. He couldn't wait till his next day of school.

Our conversation after school:
Laura: Did you make new friends?
Jer: No
Me: Yes you did. All of the kids in your class are your new friends.
Jer: All those kids are my new friends!
Me: Yes
Jer: Wow, I have a lot of new friends!!

Portland Temple

We decided to go walk around the temple on Sunday afternoon. It was a beautiful day. Brooklyn changed her clothes too quick after church and wouldn't change back! But I still think the pictures are so cute.

Let's go fly a kite...

On Friday we headed to the coast. We started in Cannon Beach with lunch at Mo's. Then we went onto the beach and flew the kites that Uncle Matt bought for the kids. I don't know who had more fun flying the kites, Benson or the kids.

If you look really close you can see both kites along with Grandpa, Laura and Ryan attached to Laura in the background.

After we flew the kites and Brooklyn and Jer made sandcastles we headed south to Tillamook. We went to the cheese factory and had ice cream. It was cool to see them cut and package the cheese. Maybe next time we will get there while they are making the cheese.

What we've been up to...

If you haven't figured it out my parents are in town. We are having a lot of fun with them. Here are some pictures of things we have been up to.

We went to the World Forestry Museum and rode the rapids! Even Ryan got in on the action. Jeremy took us on a wild safari ride.
Grandpa has taken the kids swimming a couple of times. Unfortunately our pool is closed so they went swimming at my parents' hotel.
And today we went down to the waterfront in Portland. We got to see the bridge get raised.
Grandpa and Jer walking on the pier.
We went to the fountains in the Pearl District. I needed to feed Ryan and we happened to be right by these and we thought it would be a perfect place to stop. Jeremy had fun playing in the water.
Brooklyn has been in school so she has missed out on a few things. But she hasn't missed anything quite as much as she has missed Ryan while she is at school.

Ryan's blessing

Benson blessed Ryan in Church on Sunday along with my dad and a few of our friends. It is so wonderful to have my parents here and to have my dad participate in Ryan's blessing. Also thanks to our friends who participated in the blessing and for helping us celebrate Ryan's birth and blessing after church. I am so grateful for the friendships we have made. We feel so lucky to have such wonderful people in our lives.

Stingers Soccer

This last Saturday was Brooklyn's first soccer game of the season. She scored 3 of her teams goals. It is very exciting for soccer season to be back. And it is especially exciting that Laura was here for her game and Grandma, Grandpa, Janel, and Avery will also be able to see her play soccer this season.
This is Brooklyn after she scored a goal. As you can see she is very happy with herself.

First Day of School

Today is Brooklyn's first day of 1st grade. She was so excited to start school today. I was not. Getting up at 6:45 is not my idea of fun. Luckily Ryan slept really well last night so it wasn't so bad getting up early. Anyway, Brooklyn practically went running onto the bus and then she waved at me from her seat. I thought I was supposed to be the eager one and she was supposed to be sad!?! I am glad though that she was so excited.

Here are a few pictures we took of her this morning. She is quite the little model. I love how she does different poses and looks.

Thanks Grandma Jean for the moola to buy this adorable new outfit. Brooklyn picked it out all herself.

well loved

Here are a few pictures from the past few days. I haven't taken too many pictures lately. We have been so busy. It doesn't help that we can't get out of the house before noon and that is on a good day. I don't know what I will do when all my help is gone.

As you can tell by these pictures Ryan is very well loved. Aunt Laura and Ryan catching some Z's together.
Me with the newest love of my life, Ryan!
I had to throw in this picture. I just love his little feet!
My two sweet boys.
