Benson is such a jerk!!!!

Okay, here it is...you probably all knew this was going to happen sooner or later, but Benson and I have decided to seperate for a little bit. It seems as if the stress of the newborn has made things so that we cannot handle them. I guess we really only had a 50% chance of this working anyway.

Just kidding, this is actually Benson writing. I think Michelle will make me change this but oh well. I have been talking with Michelle and I have decided to write a blog about my experiences as a police officer. I am going to make the police blog private, because I don't want to have all the world reading the things I will be posting, not that there will be personal information or anything like that. So, if any of you are interested in reading the blog, leave your email in the comments, and I will send out an invite. If I don't get any email addresses, well then I guess it confirms the fact that I don't have any friends, poor me!!!!

And just in case you missed it, Michelle and I are really not seperating. It was just a gag to get you to read on.

beachin' it

Today we took Cait to the beach. It was the perfect day. Too bad we didn't get there until 3:00. Brooklyn, Jeremy and Caitlin had fun building sand castles. We should have brought swimsuits for the kids but we didn't think it was going to be that nice. I have decided we need to go the the coast prepared for any weather.

I love this picture of Jer. He looks so hard at work.
Benson took these pictures. I thought I would add them because they are beautiful.

St. Patrick's Cathedral of Oregon

Benson used to joke about going to St. Patrick's Cathedral everytime we had a visitor. Well now Multnomah Falls has become the place we go everytime we have a visitor. But how can you resist. It is relatively close to our home and it is so beautiful. And we finally got a picture of the 5 of us. It is our first one. Aunt Cait took the kids up to the bridge. I'll just say I was a little nervous watching them look over the edge. If you have been there you will know what I mean. For those of you that have not, there are huge holes that a child could easily fall through. I was glad when they came back.

The kids are loving having Aunt Cait here. Jeremy yelled out his bedroom window last night to tell the neighbor that his best friend was here and was going to read him a bedtime story. Brooklyn quickly corrected him stating it was their aunt. I can't count the number of times Jer has kissed Caitlin and told her that he loves her.

proud siblings

These are just some random pictures. The kids love to hold Ryan. They are always asking to hold him. They are so cute with him. It cracks me up to listen to them talk to Ryan. They are constantly wanting to touch and kiss him.

so kissable

Ryan is a week old today. Actually by the time I finish posting this he will almost be 8 days old! He is so sweet and such a good baby. We love him so much. The kids can't get enough of him and neither can Benson or I. Here are some pictures Cait and I took of him tonight. I just wish I knew how to play with photoshop better.

So today Benson layed Ryan on his tummy and within a couple of minutes he had rolled himself over. It was so crazy, Benson and I looked at each other wide eyed. I don't know if it was just a fluke or what but he tucked his arm under and kept pushing off with his feet and the next thing we knew he had turned. This kid is so tough. His last ultrasound (which was last Monday) the nurse said he had a lot of muscle on him. Apparently that is very true. We were going to try again but he really wanted to eat.

my sweet baby

I cannot begin to express the emotions I have felt in the last few days. But most of you know what I am talking about without having to try and describe it. Ryan has brought so much into our lives already. He has already given us a couple of good scares. From his random difficult breathing to his circumcision cut not wanting to clot. I have cried happy tears and sad tears and then just some tears for the heck of it. I love this little guy so much. my sweet boy

I love to watch Benson with Ryan. He is so good with him and has helped me out so much.
Ryan's getting ready to go home. We had just put on his "going home" outfit. It said "Thank Heaven for little boys."
Brooklyn and Jeremy love their little brother so much. They want to help in whatever way they can. Brooklyn has "babysat" Ryan for us already. She is so good with him and so is Jeremy.
Jeremy wanted to read Ryan some books. What a good big brother.

Welcome Ryan!!!!

I just wanted to post a few pics of the new addtion to the family. This picture was taken just after Ryan came out of Michelle. He is just starting to do the crying thing.

This is in the late morning/early afternoon of 08-14-08. Ryan has been such a peaceful baby. He slept through the check-up with his doctor. It was amazing.

I guess because he is such a big baby, 9 lbs 14 oz, his circulation isn't all that great yet. That is why the bottom of his legs and feet are dark. The nursing staff has come and put heating blankets over his feet, and they turn pink, and then slowly go back to this black/purple color.
The kids are very excited to be big siblings. They could hardly contain themselves.

baby details

I am being induced at 3:00 today. I will give you the details of my hectic day later. So we are leaving for the hospital in just a few minutes. They called me at 1:20 to tell me to come in. So we are off!!! Yipee!

still waiting

So basically the doctor is stalling me because she doesn't want to induce me. Blah Blah Blah! She is now trying to get the medical records from Jeremy's birth to see what they said about my delivery with him. I am supposed to hear something this morning as to when she will induce me. But like I said she is really trying to stall this whole thing!

an update

Well not much has changed here at the Weinberger household. We are still waiting for the baby to make his appearance. We did make a run to the hospital yesterday morning because he was not moving. They did an ultrasound and he is fine. He was sucking on his hands just chillin'. The nurse said he has a lot of muscle on him. They also confirmed that is definitely a boy! Then they put the fetal heart monitors on me for about 30 minutes and all is well. I have been having contractions for about 3 days straight now. They seem to come about every 2-3 minutes but they are Braxton Hicks.

I have a doctor's appointment today to discuss inducing me. My doctor pretty much doesn't want to but she knows that I really want to so we will see what decisions are made after this appointment. She talked about doing an ultrasound and estimating how much the baby weighs. That is one of the things that concerns me because Jer was 8lbs. 15 oz. and was 10 days early. But then she continued to tell me that it is really not accurate. So I don't know why we would do that. I am due Friday. It is not like I am asking to be induced weeks early! So anyway, I will let you know. I am hoping we will schedule to be induced later this week.

Are you kidding me!

Yesterday I had my 39 week check up. Actually it was a day short of 39 weeks. Apparently that was very important to my doctor. She did the routine check up and I am dialeted to a 3. (Here is where it gets a little graphic.) Well a couple of weeks ago I asked her if she would strip my membranes. She told me that I had to wait till 39 weeks before she would do that. So anyway I reminded her to do it. She laughs at me and says, "Not till 39 weeks." Are you kidding me!!! So I responded with, "Well isn't that tomorrow!" She laughed again and proceeded to tell me how new studies have shown that stripping my membranes doesn't actually send me into labor that all it can possibly do is break my water. So my thought was well then do it if it doesn't matter. Anyway, I am not happy about it in the least bit. And of course she responded with, "Well he will come, I will be shocked if I see you here next week." I wanted to tell her that she said the exact same thing about my 39 week appointment.

Anyway, I never knew that 7 days would feel like an eternity away. Even then my doc didn't sound like she would induce me. I am going to try and see a different doctor that I have seen a couple of other times during this pregnancy. She seems to be a little more willing to listen to me. So, pray that my water breaks or I go into labor TODAY please!

I am so tired of being hot and sweaty. We were at Brooklyn's soccer practice yesterday and we were sitting in the shade. I was dripping in sweat and I look at Benson who was bone dry. Not a drop of sweat on him. I am so tired of being so hot. Why did I ever think being 9 months
pregnant in August without air conditioning was a good idea!

If you think I am being a complainer well, you are right. I am complaining! I have never been pregnant this long and I am pooped! I woke Benson up to cry to him this morning and as soon as he realized I wasn't in pain he pretty much hugged me, released some pressure and went back to sleep. So I didn't get any sympathy from him. (He is gonna kill me when he reads this!)

Oaks Amusement Park

The union Benson belongs to has a yearly picnic at Oaks Park. So we get to ride the rides for free, have a catered dinner and eat some ice cream. We can't complain. Brooklyn also won a pair of roller blades at the raffle. Unfortunately for her the roller blades fit Jeremy and not her. Anyway, here are a few pics from our day at Oaks Park. Might I quickly add the weather was perfect! Ahhh....doesn't Benson look so cute sitting on the train. I was gonna go on the train but was afraid if I got in I would never be able to get up.

Wilsonville Fountains

There are some awesome fountains for the kids to play in just a few minutes from our house. We have been there a couple of times and the kids love it. They have so much fun running up and down, floating toys down the water, sitting under the water and kicking water at each other. The best part is is that it is at a city park and it is free!

Crazy Jer

I wanted to take some pictures of Jeremy after church last week because I thought he looked really handsome. We were outside and I asked him if I could take some pictures. Here are the results:
He first insisted that he get his picture taken while eating his pretzel. Then I couldn't get him to give me a decent smile, just this goofy one!
He wanted a picture with me. So then we took this one.
Then we have these 3 completely goofy ones. I love them though because they show his personality so much. This kid cracks me up. I can seriously just sit back and laugh at him all day long.

I thought I would share. I know it is a lot of pictures of one kid but I couldn't resist!
