swimming

The kids and I are in Utah for a couple of weeks. Laura flew in on Friday and then we drove back to Utah on Sunday. It took us 12 hours practically to the minute. The kids did really well in the car. So these pictures were taken at Aunt Carla's apartment pool. We had a ton of fun playing in the pool. Janel, Avery, and Caitlin were also there. The kids have gotten so comfortable in the water. They swim all over and jump into the water (with floaties on). It is so fun to watch them.

Caitlin and Janel doing the George Washington hair. Wow did that bring back some memories. I would have done it to but my hair was in a ponytail and I didn't want to take it out. Like I said we had a blast.

Champoeg State Park

We went for a picnic at Champoeg State Park. After we had lunch we walked around a little bit and went on a garden tour. We learned about when the pioneers came to Oregon. We learned about what they ate and how they preserved the food to last them through winter. It was really interesting. After, we were able to go into the garden and pick vegetables to take home. Brooklyn loved picking the vegetables.

Who needs Cinnabon???

We'll we had a rainy day here last week, I know, I know, a rainy day in Oregon. Anyway, I wanted to do something with the kids. We ended up inviting some of our friends over and we made cinnamon rolls. Wow are they time consuming. You will see how much so when you look at the third picture of this entry. I was busy with the cinnamon rolls and the kids went upstairs, found the band aids, and proceeded to put them all over Jeremy. Well all I can say is they had fun doing it.
Yummy cinnamon rolls!
I guess this was Jeremy's way of getting the girls to play with him.

a family of police officers

As you can tell from the pictures they weren't taken much after we returned from the pool. Jeremy came into my room dressed like this. I thought it was hilarious. He is so funny because he is scared to death of police men but loves police cars. But he has told me that he wants to be a Police Man just like Dad.Of course after Jeremy got his picture taken Brooklyn then needed hers taken. She looks awfully tough.

Tualatin Commons

We went with some friends to Tualatin Commons for the kids to play in the fountain. The kids had a lot of fun running around playing. It ended up not being as hot as was predicted so they weren't as interested in running through the water as they were in just chasing each other. Oh well, they still had a good time.

Two Thumbs Up

Okay, I have to put the good word out there for my friend on the other side of the country. She started her own soap company and only uses the best products for your body in her soap, lotion and other products. I could never explain it as well as she does. So if you like soap, which I know you all do, visit her website. It is under my "links to great things". I have bought a few things and totally love them and their smell. So I thought I would let all of you know about this wonderful stuff.

Crabs, Whales, and Seals Oh My!

We spent 3 days on the coast with Matt, Dayna, and family. We had a good time. It was pretty windy most of the time. On our last day we enjoyed some warmer weather. Here are some pictures from our adventures.
Jeremy loved playing with this truck in the sand.
Cannon Beach
The top of a lighthouse, I don't remember the name of it. I just really liked this picture.
Aspen and Brooklyn at Devil's Punch Bowl. As long as we stayed pretty close to the rocks the wind wasn't too bad. It is a little cove.
My cute husband!
We found 2 crabs. We did also see a whale and seals. It was really cool. The kids would get close to the crab and then freak out. This is also at Devil's Punch Bowl.
Eatin' lunch at Mo's. (You can tell who took all the people pictures.)
I just liked this picture.
My lobster and crab. Although sometimes they are both pretty crabby! This is in Newport. It is really cool to see what the wind does to the sand. I loved these formations.

Jeremy holding one of them.
This is at the same beach as the sand formations....
and so is this one.
Another picture that I liked. It is really hard to just pick a few pictures to post.
David and Sarah were also at the Oregon Coast and they brought their dog Ruby. Jeremy loved throwing the stick for her.

Independence Day Celebration

On the 4th we went to Lake Oswego. We got a late start so we pretty much missed the festivities there. So we walked around a little bit, had some lunch and ended with ice cream. It was a hot day so being outside wasn't high on my list. Although, without air conditioning it didn't really matter where I was, it was hot. Jeremy was quick to make Caton his best buddy while they were here. Everything he did he wanted Caton to help him with or sit next to him etc....
Yummy ice cream on a hot day!
For fireworks we walked to the park by our house and watched the ones that were set off at Tigard High School. It was quite a nice spot and we didn't have to sit out there for hours to get a good spot. They didn't start till about 10:15 so we were getting nervous that they were the ones way off in the distance luckily we didn't give up and leave. We figured for as many people that were there they had to be better then the ones way off in the distance.

Japanese Garden

Jeremy smelling the flowers and watching the Koi fish.

Matt, Dayna, and the kids came to visit us. On Monday July 2nd we went to the Japanese Gardens. It was really pretty. After we walked through I took all the kids and we went home to go swimming. Matt and Dayna stayed a while longer and walked through the garden the way it is supposed to be done, with it being peaceful and quiet. The kids and I had a great time back home at the pool. Here are a few pictures from the Japanese Garden.Aspen, Caton, Jeremy, Brooklyn, and McKinley

Happy 4th of July

These pictures are from 2 years ago at Jones Beach. We went with some friends to the beach to watch fireworks. We had a really good time.

Happy Birthday to Me!

Yesterday was my birthday and we had a really good day. Matt, Dayna, the kids, and I went shopping at the outlet mall near us. Benson had to work. Anyway, I bought myself a new purse at Aeropostale for $2.50. I was excited about that. In the evening we left the kids home to play the Game Cube and found Jer a babysitter. Then us adults went out to dinner. We went to McCormick & Schmick's for dinner. The one we went to is in Downtown Portland right on the Willamette River. It was really nice. The food was absolutely wonderful. We had a really nice time. It was also enjoyable to get away from all the noise that 5 kids make.

I wanted to take pictures but of course I forgot the camera. I guess we will have to go back! ;)
