Moving Day

Today is officially moving day. We are loading up the truck and driving to Portland tomorrow. We are excited about our move and Benson's new job. Benson asked me why I wasn't sad. I told him that I was trying his approach and pushing the feelings of sadness deep down. I am sure it will hit next week when he is at work and I am sitting alone in my apartment. Anyway, I wanted to give the update. We will see when we get the internet so that I can continue the blog. Until then, God Bless! ;)

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Well we had a wonderful Christmas filled with family and way to many presents. The kids had a lot of fun with their cousins and opening gifts. Jeremy was a little leary at first and then he got the hang of it and wanted to open any present he could get his hands on regardless of what was inside. It was really fun to watch him. He loved his backpack of Lightning McQueen that he got from Grandma Jeppson. When he opened it he yelled "backpack!" Then he wore it the rest of the time we were there.

I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus!

Brooklyn had her Christmas dance performance on Saturday. They danced to I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. I've discovered that Brooklyn is really good at shaking her booty. It was so cute. Aunt Laura brought flowers for Brooklyn and she also got a medal. She had a lot of fun.

Brooklyn's school Christmas performance

Brooklyn had her school Christmas performance on Friday. It was really cute, they even sang a Russian Christmas song. Jeremy was afraid of Santa so we just got a picture of Brooklyn and Santa.

This is Brooklyn with her friend Nick. He has a major crush on her and she eats it up.

Anyone for liver?

Interesting title I know! If you haven't heard we had a really bad few days. Benson was contacted by the officer that is handling his hiring and was told that his blood tests came back and he had failed. Apparently his liver readings were off the charts and because so he didn't have a job in Portland until new tests were run and they came back normal. If you can imagine we were really frustrated because he had been told that he was good to go and to make moving arrangments. So we did. We both have informed our jobs, we told our landlords, put money down on a new apartment and reserved a moving truck. So we were scrambling to find a doctor here that would call in blood labs for him. Luckily we have connections through Benson's mom who works at the hospital. On Thursday Benson went and had his blood drawn again and on Friday we got the results. One score is a little high but nothing of concern. On Wednesday he has a follow up appt with the doctor to completely sign him off. So keep your fingers crossed. Once the scores came back and it all looked good Benson called and informed the Portland doctor because he is the one that has to approve him to be hired. Well during that conversation the doctor then informed Benson that he had interpruted his depth perception results wrong and that he had really failed. So once again that means no job. So 3:00 on Friday we called every eye doctor in the area to get Benson in for an appointment. Luckily we found one in Salt Lake that would see him that evening and Benson passed the depth perception test. So, we are back on track for our move on December 28th. But as Benson has said to me before he is cautiously optomistic. I told him I won't feel totally comfortable until January 2nd when he has completed his first day of work.

Oh Christmas Tree

Well here is our glorious Christmas tree. I never thought I would use a fake tree but desperate times call for desperate measures. I promise this is only a one time deal. With the upcoming move and the preparation for it, it just wasn't the year for a real tree. The kids didn't care, they still got to decorate the tree and they had a lot of fun.

Officer Weinberger reporting for duty!

Well of the title didn't give it away, Benson was hired by the Portland Police Department! We went to Portland for a long weekend this last weekend for Benson to finish up the testing. Then he was told yesterday the 6th that he was hired and he starts January 2nd. Luckily I went with him and we were able to find a great place to live. We are really excited about our upcoming adventure. We just didn't realize that the move would take place so soon.

I would have some pictures of our trip but we forgot our camera. But we went and saw Multnomah Falls, it was absolutely beautiful. It was freezing, luckily Benson had is coat to let me use! If you have never been to Portland then you should go not only because we want guests but it is beautiful.

Black Friday

Benson and I went shopping the day after Thanksgiving. We got up at 3:50 and headed up to Mervyn's for the opening and then went to Target for their opening at 6:00. We had so much fun. There was nothing major that we wanted we just love the experience. Nothing rings in the Christmas holiday like running, fighting, yelling, grabbing, and swearing at 5:00 in the morning on wonderful Black Friday. And of course, we did end up finding plenty to buy. I hope all of you had as much of a memorable day as we did.

Happy Thanksgiving

Our Thanksgiving feast!
Grandpa, Avery, Janel, Johnny, Brooklyn, Laura, Benson, Caitlin, and Grandma
I was also there but was busy taking the picture and Jeremy of course had to help take the picture instead of be in it.
Brooklyn found these turkey hats on Playhouse Disney. We printed them off and the kids colored them and we put them together. They loved them.
Jeremy finally gave in to sleep at around 4:30. He was totally pooped.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. I love the holidays and the time I get to spend with family. Here is a list of 5 things I am grateful for (in no particular order, well maybe kinda):
5. chocolate
4. the heater and the window air conditoner in my apartment
3. my car
2. my family and friends
drum roll.......
1. Benson, Brooklyn, and Jeremy!
Now I want you to tell me yours, please!

So this is what happens when parents are sleeping while children are awake. Jeremy had a really fun time coloring himself while I fell back asleep. The good news is that the marker was washable.

Daddy/Daughter Date

First things first, I want to thank all of you who responded to my last post. It is nice to know that people look at the blog on a regular basis. So...... I shall continue!

Last night Benson and Brooklyn went on a little date. They went to dinner and then to Disney On Ice. They had a really good time. Benson said that Brooklyn was on the edge of her seat the whole time and he even let her get a souvenir. Benson had a really fun time watching Brooklyn have such a good time. He even talked about wanting to take her to Disneyland because he really enjoyed seeing the excitement in her eyes.

Anyway, that was the big exciting event for the weekend. Not much more is happening here. We are getting excited about the holidays coming up and spending time as a family and also spending time with family. The kids and I already listen to Christmas music when we are in the car. Benson can't belive it. Hopefully I will get Christmas cards sent out this year.

Hello, is anyone there?

Ok, so I told Benson that I am going to stop doing this blog thing because nobody ever looks at it besides me. He told me I was crazy, that people look at it. So I ask all of you to respond so that I know someone other then me looks at it. All you have to do is respond to this post and say that you look at it.
Thanks so much! (In my best Utah voice.)

Brooklyn was Tinkerbell for Halloween and Jeremy was a firefighter. Brooklyn thought it was so cool she got to put on make up for Halloween. Jeremy wasn't really thrilled about wearing a costume until he found out that it got him candy. After that he was pretty cool with it.

halloween cookies

The kids had a fun time decorating halloween cookies especially with their cousin Sydnee.

weinberger family halloween party

We had a Halloween party with Benson's family. It was a lot of fun. The kids had fun carving pumpkins. Brooklyn carved a bat and Jeremy did a happy face. They were both very proud of their pumpkins.

root canal hell

Sorry I have not posted in a few days. I had a toothache last weekend and went to the dentist on Monday and I had an absess. (I don't know how you spell that.) Anyway, I had to have a root canal and after that I was in major pain. I was standing at the pharmacy counter crying waiting for my pain medicine to get filled. Long story short, that pain medication didn't work and then they put me on something stronger which made me sick. Then the antibiotic they gave me didn't work and I was getting more and more swollen. So the dentist gave me a stronger antibiotic and it is finally starting to work. I am starting to feel back to normal. I have some really cute pictures of the kids from Halloween. I will post them sometime this weekend.

Michelle in mourning

I must apoligize for my lack of posting these last few days. I have been in mourning over the Mets loss in the playoffs. I was more upset about it then Benson was. I was yelling at the players from my apartment, as a true Mets fan would do. Benson said I was more upset when they lost then when the Giants didn't make it. I said it was only because the Mets really had a chance and as sad as it is to say the Giants just didn't this year.

pumpkin patch

We took the kids to Pack's Pumpkin Patch. They had a lot of fun. There was a maze and these fun cut out pictures and of course pumpkins. I think we chose one of the coldest afternoons to go but it was the only day we had. The kids had a blast.

Pioneer children sang as they walked and walked and walked. (Remember that song?!)

Brooklyn Jane

We finally got Brooklyn's picture taken for her 5th birthday. I loved it so much that I have to share it with all of you.

Dancing Queen

Brooklyn is now taking dance lessons. She is loving every minute of it. These are pictures of her in her new dance clothes. By the way, she did these poses all by herself. I had to put all of these in because I thought it was hilarious how much she was posing. After her first day of class I asked her if she had fun. She told me it was "totally awesome". She loves having her cousin Ashli be her dance teacher.

I thought I would update all of you on our lives. Today is mine and Benson's 6 year anniversary. I cannot believe it has been 6 years. So much has happened in our lives. I have been looking back and reflecting on things I would have done different and things I am glad we did. In case there is any confusion, marrying Benson is one of the things I would not change. Obviously this picture is from our wedding day. It is by no means the best picture. Unfortunately most everything we own is in storage. This was the 1 picture I could find.

Benson had a phone interview with his background investigator from the Portland PD on Tuesday. Everything went well. The officer said that he was going to try and schedule Benson to come out the first week of November to finish the other tests. I would tell you what those tests are but I don't even remember anymore. We are really excited that things are moving along. This process has been going on for almost a year now. So Bryce and Brinley hopefully we will be heading your way in the next few months.

As for me I am liking my new job. If I have to work then this is definitely a nice job to have. I am working at a spa and once a month I get a free treatment. This month I am going to get a facial. I have never had one before and I am really excited about it. But about the actual job, my boss is really accommodating to my schedule. I also really like the girls I work with.

Brooklyn is doing well. She is very excited about being 5 now. She thinks she is such a big girl. She even did her own hair today. It is a good thing we don't have plans on taking her out of the house. Actually it isn't that bad! On Sunday, which was the day before her birthday, she asked me if I would please call her either Birthday Girl or 5 Years Old. That is what she wanted to be known as. I thought is was pretty funny. I tried to remember to call her one of those names all day.

Jeremy is talking more and more but still isn't very easy to understand. What is really hard is you can't say "oh really" to him. When you do, he knows that you don't know what he is saying and he gets really frustrated. It was really cute the other day, he was sitting on my lap and he looked back at me and said, "love you". Then he looked over at Benson and said, "Dad, love you". It was so stinkin' cute. I am getting a little nervous that he is so hard to understand though. He goes to the doctor in a couple of weeks and I am going to try and get him into a ENT doctor to have everything checked out. We will see what they say.

Brooklyn's 5th Birthday!

For Brooklyn's birthday we went bowling and then to get ice cream. We went with Kathi, Ashli and Ashli's boyfriend Austin. Brooklyn beat her dad at bowling with a score of 80. She was very excited about that. We had a lot of fun. Brooklyn got a free banana split because it was her birthday. I don't think she even ate half of it.

Grandma made this ladybug quilt for Brooklyn and gave it to her on her birthday. Brooklyn loves it.

Brooklyn's Birthday Party!

We had Brooklyn's birthday on Saturday night. We had a lot of fun celebrating her birthday. She loved her new toys and so did Jeremy.
A new bracelet from Great Grandpa Jeppson.

Birthday cake!

BEWARE: Bear Tracks!

Well we did it. We went to Hope Campground up Provo Canyon and we had a successful family camping trip. The kids slept better in the tent then they usually do at home. I told Benson that I was going to pitch a tent in the front yard and sleep the kids in it every night. All kidding aside, we had a really good time with the kids roasting marshmallows and playing around. Although, I had to lay aside my hatred of the kids being really dirty and gross. Also, Brooklyn swore she saw a bear paw print within the first 5 minutes we were there. The interesting thing about it is that it looked just like Benson's shoe print. Amazing how that is.
